How to Make a Ballet Barre
A simple and easy way to make a ballet barre
A little project I whipped up and if I can do it ANYONE can!
I used 25mm pipes for this but I would recommend the next size up (32mm would be ideal particularly for dancers 8yrs and over).
My barre in the video is also too tall for young children but you can adjust the size depending on your child’s height. It should be waist height as a guide.
Equipment required:
- 5 X 1M PVC pipes (25mm or 32mm)
- 4 X PVC Tee joins (25mm or 32mm)
- 6 X PVC Elbow joins (25mm or 32mm)
Instructions:
- Leave 2 pipes at 1m lengths
- Cut one pipe into 4 equal parts (ie. 25cm)
- Cut the remaining 2 pipes into
- 2 x 30cm
- 2 X 50-60cm (note this is the one that will give you the height so you may want to adjust according to your child’s height).
