Jazz Classes
ages 7+
Our jazz program gives students the chance to leap, turn, kick and feel the beat.
Jazz improves strength, stamina balance and flexibility for young dancers. Through a variety of movements from the latest funk and hip hop moves through to rock n’ roll and routines from favourite musicals. Our teachers help students learn body awareness and encourage them to feel confident in their movement and themselves. Peninsula School of Dance uses the Australian Teachers of Dance Syllabus to teach our jazz program.
We also have a Jazz & Tap Class for our younger students- which is a fun and energetic class introducing basic jazz & tap technique.
WHAT TO WEAR
Jazz
OPTION 1:
- Tan tights
- Tan jazz shoes
- PSD/black shorts
- Cotton lycra leotard in either:
(Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald) - Columbian Blue pinch front leotard
(Gold, Diamond and Adult) - Navy Blue
OPTION 2:
- Tan jazz shoes
- PSD/black shorts
- PSD singlet or PSD T-Shirt/plain black T-Shirt
Note: black jazz shoes are acceptable for Gold students but tan shoes are required for performances
Class Fees
Annual Membership Fee
$45 per student
Non-refundable once only annual payment. This amount is added to the Term 1 invoice or upon full enrolment.
Fees are calculated based on the number of hours per week multiplied by the number of weeks in the term.
Note term 4 is calculated based on additional rehearsal time and includes the dress rehearsal. PSD does not run classes on public holidays and fees are reduced accordingly. You will be provided with a full account statement after your free trial class.

Specialist Program Rates
These programs are billed separately to the fee schedule due the increased value provided within these programs. This includes specialist teachers, additional performance opportunities, costumes for events and the like.
Industry $25 per workshop
Private Lessons $40 per ½ hour
Excel program guidelines
Industry – Students must be in at least Ruby ballet, taking a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week and at least one other class in another genre.
Our Excel programs are for dedicated students only! We do not require students to audition but do ask that they are committed and dedicated to their personal learning and development. Please email admin@peninsuladance.com.au to receive program guidelines and an application form.
